Understanding the healing Properties of Aloe
and its constituents…
Aloe Vera
·
Aloe Vera is an amazing mixture of more than
200 constituents, including polysaccharides, enzymes, glycoproteins, amino
acids, vitamins and minerals.
·
The active polysaccharide fractions in aloe
are called galacto-mannans or beta-glucomannans
What is Acemannan?
·
Wikipedia defines acemannan as “Acemannan is a
D-isomer mucopolysaccharide in aloe vera leaves. This compound has been known
to have immunostimulant, [1] antiviral, antineoplastic and gastrointestinal
properties. [2]
·
Acemannan (the name often used for aloe
beta-glucomannans, acetylated polymannans and mucopolysaccharides) is a long
chain sugar that interjects itself into all cell membranes.
Why Now?
·
Traditionally, the problem with aloe vera
products is that the key active ingredients, the mannan sugars, are not
particularly concentrated in the aloe plant.
·
Additionally they are not particularly stable.
In addition, they are easily destroyed both in the harvesting process and in
the concentration process.
·
A new patented aloe process allows for the
supreme preservation of the acemannan and other polysaccharides at a level never seen before!
How does the body use it.
·
Mannose is very important in cellular
communication and glycoprotein synthesis.
·
Glucose can be converted to mannose by enzymes
if not enough ingested.
·
Always assumed that glycoprotein biosynthesis
was derived entirely from glucose. “Monosaccharides are an alphabet of coding
capacity like amino acids and nucleic acids…mannose being one of the most
important” (Journal of Glycobiology, 98)
How does the body get Acemannan?
·
Bacteria in small intestine breaks down the
polysaccharides then you have pumps that push the mannose into the bloodstream.
·
Glucose can be converted to mannose by enzymes
if not enough ingested on surface of cells, macrophages they have receptors
that look for mannose and other mono saccharides, requires calcium to work.
·
Mannose binding lectins
So What does Acemannan do exactly?
·
These polysaccharides have been shown in
laboratory studies to act as a bridge between foreign proteins (such as virus
particles) and macrophage cells in the human body, facilitating the destruction
of the invading protein by the macrophage.
·
Activating
the receptor sites of the macrophages is also a key to the overall
boosting of cell-mediated immunity, which, significantly, is deficient in HIV
infection and other immune disorders.
·
Aloe polysaccharides also protect the bone
marrow from damage by toxic chemicals and drugs.
Let’s See Some Science!
·
“In-vivo results showed acemannan-treated
groups had higher bone mineral density and faster bone healing compared with
untreated controls. A substantial ingrowth of bone trabeculae was observed in
acemannan-treated groups. These data suggest acemannan could function as a
bioactive molecule inducing bone formation by stimulating BMSCs proliferation,
differentiation into osteoblasts, and extracellular matrix synthesis”
(Jittapiromsak et al, 2010).

Results:
·
The percentage of both objective tumor
regressions and disease control was
significantly higher in patients concomitantly treated with Aloe than with
chemotherapy alone, as well as the percent of 3-year survival patients.
Conclusion:
·
This study seems to suggest that Aloe may be
successfully associated with chemotherapy to increase its efficacy in terms of
both tumor regression rate and survival time. (Lissoni et al, 2009).
What’s the take home?
·
Acemannan interjects itself into all cell
membranes. This results in an increase in the fluidity and permeability of the
membranes allowing toxins to flow out of
the cell more easily and nutrients to enter the cell more easily.
·
The bottom line is that concentrated aloe
fractions enhance the functioning of the entire immune system, detoxify the
body, promote the repair of a wide range of tissues and organs, improve
digestive functions, and help with the destruction and elimination of invading
bacteria, viruses, and parasites.
·
Increase the body’s own production of
interferon, interleukins.
·
Increase the number of antibody forming
T-cells in the spleen.
·
Great against pathogens on any mucous
membrane.

Grown in open sea air on a volcanic island in rich volcanic soil. As the
aloe is harvested in the field, its inner leaf gel is manually separated from
its outer sheath. It is then immediately centrifuged to eliminate the water
content, then immediately freeze-dried – all right in the field. This rigorous
method delivers the freshest richest concentration of acemannan possible.
Our delicate growing and processing delivers the highest amount of
short-chain mannose sugars which are often deficient in other aloe products
because the enzymes in the aloe can destroy the short chain mannose within
hours of separation from the plant.
Acemannan
Mannose sugars include beta 1-4D, a key building block for the healthy cell.
Acemannan is a D-isomer mucopolysaccharide in Aloe vera. Studies show acemannan
has immunostimulant, antiviral, antineoplastic and gastrointestinal properties.
Some evidence shows acemannan may reduce mycotoxic body burden. Acemannan has
been demonstrated to induce macrophages to secrete interferon (INF), tumor
necrosis factor – a (TNF-A) and interleukins (IL-1). This suggests it may help
to prevent or clear viral infection. In vitro studies have shown acemannan to
inhibit HIV replication. Acemannan is currently being used for treatment of
fibrosarcoma in animals. QRA testing results of Aloe Mannan-FX shows great
promise for all mucus membranes, especially the upper GI; therapy localize to
test points, or test at Thymus.
