K-2 clears damp heat in the kidney and warms up the kidneys. It helps clear kidney infections caused by gram-negative bacteria. Nefnin is also recommended since mycobacteria is a common co-infection that associates with gram-negative bacterial infections. LC Balancer and Xcel are also required to help clears waste products and improve kidney structure and function.
K-3 also clears kidney damp heat and kidney infections caused by gram-negative bacteria. N-2 is also recommended to help further clear the co-infection of mycobacteria.
1. Kidney Gram-Negative Bacterial Infections
Kidney gram-negative bacterial infections are usually caused by recurrent bacterial infections of the bladder when the bacteria spread into the kidneys. Patients may experience a persistent urge to urinate, cloudy urine, back and flank pain, blood in urine, chills or fever, nausea, and vomiting. Gram-negative bacteria lack a bacteria cell wall structure and therefore do not respond well to antibiotics that target bacterial cell wall synthesis. The low virulence gram-negative bacteria are even harder to eradicate because they are not actively reproducing and antibiotics that target bacteria protein or DNA synthesis are not effective. Patients with kidney gram-negative bacterial infections are often co-infected by mycobacteria. Because gram-negative bacteria do not have a strong cell wall structure, they are often infected by the intracellular parasitic mycobacteria and become the harbor of the mycobacteria. Periodically the mycobacteria are released when the bacteria die and causes a kidney mycobacterial infection. Over time, the infection can cause kidney tissue damage and reduced kidney function. In severe cases, it can cause chronic kidney disease (CKD) and kidney failure.
K-2 helps clear the kidney gram-negative bacterial infection. K-2 also increases the metabolic activity of the gram-negative bacteria in the kidney to agitate the germs to help kill the bacteria and clear the infections. Since parasitic mycobacterial co-infections are commonly associated with kidney gram-negative bacterial infection, Nefinin is also recommended. With the use of K2 and Nefinin, patients can experience symptom improvement in 1 week. 2-4 weeks of treatment is required to have significant improvement and sustained results.
LC Balancer and Xcel are also required to help clear waste products and improve the kidney structure and function. For patients who have developed CKD, KS, Formula C, and Anemic formula may also be required to reduce kidney inflammation and repair kidney damage.
Compared to K-2 which consists of 12 different Chinese herbs which cover a broad spectrum of gram-negative bacteria, K-3 consists of only two Chinese herbs and is more specific toward certain strains of gram-negative bacteria that infect the kidney. If patients’ improvement plateaus after using K-2 and Nefnin, K-3 with N-2 is recommended. N-2 helps clear kidney mycobacterial infections that can’t be resolved with the use of Nefinin.
